As a consumer, it is important for you to understand that all agents are licensed by the state but not all agents are members of local associations. Being a member of a local association is a voluntary process that allows for access to local MLS as well as networking and training events – being an associate is valuable because it demonstrates competency in customer care, professionalism, communication skills, and knowledge.
